Majority of the website owners always wish to get new websites whenever they want to start their SEO strategies because they assume, the old domain is always better than the new ones. Is this so?

What makes a new domain better than the existing one will be the number of backlinks, domain authority and page authority that it might have gathered during the period of its activeness.

An old domain which doesn't have much backlinks is as good or useless as a new domain. What do you think with such an assertion?
