Hey everyone,

After lurking around for a while and drawing inspiration from some of the fantastic journeys shared here, I decided it's time to document mine. I’m calling this my personal mission to hit £10,000 per month with affiliate marketing — and I’ll be sharing the entire process step by step.

Let me rewind a bit and give you some background.

My Affiliate Roots

I’m not exactly new to affiliate marketing. Around 8–9 years ago, I dabbled in Amazon affiliate promotions — back when things were relatively straightforward. You could spin up a WordPress site, add a plugin that pulled product data, and boom, you had a niche store running. It was easier then — less competition, higher commissions, and less emphasis on manual content.

Fast forward to today, and things have evolved massively. The market is way more competitive, automation isn’t as effective, and Google’s algorithm favors authority, relevance, and user-focused content.

The New Beginning

Roughly six months ago, I bought a domain with the idea of getting back into affiliate marketing — this time with a more strategic and long-term mindset.

Initially, I designed the site and added a few posts but didn’t stay consistent. Life got in the way, and the site just sat idle.

But with the new year, I’ve set a fresh challenge for myself. I picked up where I left off and started putting in serious work. Now, the site has:

  • 100+ product review articles (handwritten, no AI or automation)
  • A clean, mobile-friendly layout
  • Internal linking strategy in place
  • A growing backlink profile

Where I Am Now

Traffic is still in its early stages. I’m currently getting around 30–40 organic visits per day, which may seem low, but here's the interesting part — the site is already ranking for over 2,000 keywords (mostly low-volume and long-tail).

It shows that Google is beginning to recognize the site and the topical authority is building slowly. I’m not seeing any significant conversions yet, but this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Monetization So Far

  • I’m monetizing through Amazon Affiliate Program, but I’m considering diversifying into other networks or direct offers to increase commission rates and access higher-ticket products.
  • The site has also been approved for Google AdSense, which could help bring in some baseline passive income as traffic grows.

Right now, my monthly earnings are negligible — maybe enough to cover a domain renewal — but the foundation is there.

Next Steps in the Journey

I’m doubling down on content and links. Here's my current action plan:

  • Post at least 50 articles per week: This will mostly be product comparisons, listicles, and informational content to build topical authority.
  • Manual backlink building: I’ll be reaching out for guest posts, doing niche edits, and leveraging a few web 2.0s to strengthen domain trust.
  • Testing different affiliate programs: I’ll explore niche-specific platforms with better rates than Amazon, possibly direct partnerships with brands.
  • Page Speed + UX Optimization: Google’s Core Web Vitals are no joke, so I’ll be improving site speed, fixing layout shifts, and simplifying the user experience.

Goal: £10,000/month

I know this number is ambitious, especially starting from near zero, but I truly believe it's achievable with the right content volume, quality backlinks, and smart monetization.

I’ll be posting regular updates — traffic growth, ranking jumps, revenue milestones, setbacks, and experiments. Everything will be shared transparently. Whether this ends in a massive win or a valuable lesson, I hope others can learn from it too.

Thanks for reading — and I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or even warnings from anyone who’s walked a similar path!
