Is there any difference between backlinks and crosslinks when it comes to SEO?

Backlinks and crosslinks are some of the tools used in order to increase the chance of SEO and ranking on SERPs. While the two are important, they perform different functions. Backlinks will contains links from other sources, which helps in increasing domain authority of a website and its visibility.

Crosslinks on the other hand, are the lists of the links that are used on articles. These may be seen as internal links that only connect articles on the same blog.

What do you understand by the two concepts?
