Hey everyone,

Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into traffic sources beyond the usual suspects like native ads and social media. One channel that keeps catching my attention is push notifications — not just for retargeting warm leads, but for reaching completely cold audiences who have never interacted with me before.

Now, before anyone asks — no, I’m not talking about sending notifications to my existing subscriber base. In this case, I don’t have a list at all. I’m talking about buying push traffic directly from a network that already has a large pool of subscribers and delivering CPA offers straight to them.

Why Push Notifications?

Push notifications are unique in the sense that they feel personal — they pop right on the user’s device, whether it’s a desktop or mobile phone. Unlike banner ads or even social posts, they don’t rely on someone scrolling a feed. Instead, they get the message front and center.

For affiliates, that means a few things:

  1. Higher visibility — your ad doesn’t get lost in the noise of a crowded webpage.
  2. Fast click-throughs — users either engage right away or ignore it, so results come quickly.
  3. Lower competition in certain niches — while everyone is fighting over Facebook ad space, push can be less saturated in specific verticals.

My Goal

My aim is simple: run a CPA offer through push traffic targeting a specific GEO and see if I can generate conversions from a completely cold audience. No prior brand interaction, no email list, just straight-up rented reach from a network’s subscriber base.

Since I’m paying for each click or impression, finding the right network is critical. Not all push networks are created equal. Some have better subscriber quality, others are stronger in certain GEOs, and some allow more flexibility with creatives and verticals.

Challenges I’ve Faced

  • Quality vs. Quantity: Some networks boast millions of subscribers, but that doesn’t mean the traffic is engaged or relevant to my offer.
  • Vertical Restrictions: Certain CPA niches, especially those in nutra, dating, or crypto, may be restricted or require approval.
  • Creative Format: Push notifications have strict limits on title length, description length, and image size. This means I have to test multiple variations quickly to find what resonates.
  • Fraud Concerns: Like with any ad network, not every click is created equal. Filtering out low-quality traffic is key.

What I’m Looking For in a Network

Here’s my checklist before I commit to a push network for cold-audience CPA campaigns:

  1. Strong GEO Inventory – I need coverage in my target countries with enough volume to scale.
  2. Transparent Reporting – I want to see detailed stats on impressions, clicks, and conversions so I can optimize.
  3. Flexible Targeting – Options like device type, browser, and user interest targeting are important.
  4. Reasonable Minimum Deposit – I want to test before going all-in.
  5. Reputation in the Affiliate Community – A network that’s known for paying on time and delivering real traffic.

The Plan

Once I’ve shortlisted a few networks, I’ll start with a small test budget — enough to send meaningful clicks to the offer, but not so much that I burn through funds without learning anything. I’ll run multiple creatives, each with different angles, and closely track EPC, CTR, and ROI.

If a network shows promise, I’ll scale gradually, adding more creatives and targeting options to improve engagement. If it flops, I’ll cut my losses quickly and move to the next option.

Final Thoughts

Push traffic is an exciting channel, but like any paid source, it’s not a magic bullet. The right network, combined with a strong offer and optimized creatives, can produce great results — but picking that network is the first big challenge.

I’m currently in the process of researching and testing, and I’d love to hear from anyone here who has already gone down this path. If you’ve run CPA offers to cold audiences via push, which networks gave you the best results, and what niches worked best for you?
