Hey everyone,
I recently ran a push traffic campaign in the dating vertical targeting Hungary (HUN), and I thought I’d share the process and results in detail. This wasn’t an adult or explicit campaign — just clean, straightforward dating offers aimed at mobile users. My primary goal was to drive registrations for the offer.
Traffic Source: RichPush
Vertical: Dating
GEO: Hungary (HUN)
Goal: User registrations
Tracking: RedTrack + RichPush internal tracking
When it came to creatives, I decided to avoid overly polished stock photos. Instead, I used images of girls sourced from Google that looked simple, authentic, and approachable. The idea was to make the ads feel casual and relatable rather than staged or commercial.
I kicked things off by targeting all available sources to see where the most responsive traffic came from. My starting bid was set at $0.025.
During these first three days, my main focus was on collecting data — tracking impressions, clicks, and conversions through both RedTrack and RichPush. I didn’t rush to optimize right away because I wanted a clear picture of which sources were worth keeping.
By the end of day 3, I had enough data to identify seven sources that consistently delivered better performance than the rest. At this stage, I also created an IP blacklist to filter out traffic that was producing clicks but not conversions.
Once I had narrowed down the traffic sources, I made a few adjustments to the creatives. Out of my five original push notification designs, I replaced three with fresh images and slightly tweaked headlines. This was done to keep the ads engaging and to avoid banner blindness for returning users.
The push notifications followed a short and direct formula:
After filtering traffic and updating creatives, the stats began to shift in the right direction:
The difference was clear. By focusing only on the highest-converting traffic sources and continuously updating creatives, I was able to significantly improve overall performance.
Final Thoughts:
Push notification advertising can absolutely work for dating offers, even in competitive GEOs like Hungary. The key is to keep testing, stay on top of your traffic sources, and avoid letting creatives go stale.
This campaign proved that targeted optimization and creative refresh cycles are essential for scaling push traffic profitably in the dating niche.

Testing Phase — First 3 Days

Creative Optimization
Once I had narrowed down the traffic sources, I made a few adjustments to the creatives. Out of my five original push notification designs, I replaced three with fresh images and slightly tweaked headlines. This was done to keep the ads engaging and to avoid banner blindness for returning users.
The push notifications followed a short and direct formula:
- A curiosity-driven headline
- A natural, inviting image
- A clear call-to-action
One Week Later — The Results
After filtering traffic and updating creatives, the stats began to shift in the right direction:
- +0.02% increase in visit rate
- 702 registered users added during the week
- 8.16% conversion rate
The difference was clear. By focusing only on the highest-converting traffic sources and continuously updating creatives, I was able to significantly improve overall performance.
Key Lessons Learned
- Data First, Decisions Second — Don’t rush to optimize too early. Collect enough data before making targeting decisions.
- Source Management is Critical — Identifying and sticking to top-performing sources can make or break your ROI.
- Fresh Creatives Win — Even small changes in images or headlines can help sustain engagement over time.
- Blacklist Wisely — Removing low-quality IPs and placements can instantly improve conversion rates.
