The holiday season isn’t just about gifts, family, and hot chocolate – it’s one of the most profitable periods for affiliates. Today, I’m sharing a real-world case study on how I earned $935 in profit in just 15 days running a Christmas sweepstakes campaign using push ads.

Campaign Overview

  • Offer: Christmas PS5 Sweepstakes (SOI – Single Opt-In)
  • Payout: $2.50 per registration (US traffic)
  • Traffic Source: ClickAdilla
  • Ad Format: Web Push + In-Page Push (backup for non-push devices)
  • GEO: United States
  • Duration: 25 Nov – 9 Dec
  • Ad Spend: $1,519
  • Revenue: $2,455
  • Profit: $935
  • ROI: 62%

Why This Offer?

From my past holiday campaigns, I know device sweepstakes and gift card offers convert exceptionally well in November and December. During Christmas, people are more open to entering raffles, especially when they see popular items like a PlayStation 5.

I specifically chose SOI because:

  • It’s easier for users – they only need to register, no payment required.
  • Conversions are faster and cheaper to generate.
  • Perfect for beginners testing holiday offers.

Campaign Setup

Ad Format:
I went with Web Push because it’s perfect for filtering audiences. Only users who click the notification are taken to the landing page, meaning I pay only for interested traffic. I also enabled In-Page Push to capture traffic from iOS and other devices where traditional push isn’t supported.

Bidding Strategy:

  • Started at $0.01 CPC for 3 days.
  • Raised to $0.02 CPC after noticing low impressions and conversions.
  • Tip: Set your bid slightly above the platform’s recommended range for consistent traffic.

Targeting:

  • GEO: United States
  • Device: Mobile carriers
  • Initially targeted English language, but removed it later to expand reach.
  • Enabled IPv6 traffic for additional volume.

Sources:

  • Selected Premium websites for higher quality traffic.
  • Kept them throughout the campaign.

Budget Control:

  • Daily budget: $140 max.

Creatives That Worked

I designed 9 different square creatives featuring the PS5 with holiday-themed elements. My goal was to make them clear, festive, and trustworthy.

Best-performing creative tips:

  • Include Christmas visuals (snowflakes, gift boxes, red/green color palette).
  • Keep the text short and to the point.
  • Avoid anything that might look like a scam – trust is key.

Optimization Process

  • First 3 days: Low traffic due to low bid and narrow language targeting.
  • Increased bid to $0.02 CPC and removed language filter – traffic improved.
  • Tested creatives and kept top performers, pausing underperformers.
  • Blacklisted low-converting websites using tracker data.
  • Switched to highest-quality traffic tier (users subscribed to push within last 7 days) for better conversions, even though CPC increased slightly.

Final Results

By Day 15, the campaign was running smoothly:

  • Revenue: $2,455
  • Ad Spend: $1,519
  • Profit: $935
  • ROI: 62%

This was just mid-December – I planned to keep running until Christmas Eve to squeeze even more profit from the season.

Key Takeaways for Affiliates

  1. Capitalize on Seasonal Behavior – Holidays are high-intent periods; users are more willing to engage with offers.
  2. Start with SOI Offers – Lower friction means higher conversion rates.
  3. Bid Smart – Underbidding can choke your campaign; small bid increases can unlock better volume and quality.
  4. Creative Rotation is Vital – Test multiple designs early and keep only the winners.
  5. Don’t Fear Early Losses – The first few days are for gathering data; optimization turns campaigns profitable.

Christmas campaigns are some of the easiest wins if you plan ahead, pick the right offer, and optimize consistently. If you’re running push ads, the combination of high seasonal demand + attractive sweepstakes can be a goldmine.

I’ll be scaling this same setup for New Year promos – if it works for Santa’s season, it’ll work for fireworks too.
