Hey everyone,
This is the beginning of my biggest business challenge yet — and I want to share every step of the journey with you. The goal? Bold but simple: to build and sell an email newsletter business for 1 million dollars.
I’ve never made that kind of money before, but I believe it’s possible with the right strategy, relentless consistency, and a bit of creativity.
Why a Newsletter?
A few weeks ago, I came across an article highlighting how successful some newsletters have become — some being sold for $20M, even over $100M. That got me thinking: if others can do it, why can’t I?
I remembered the Warrior Forum being sold for $1M to Freelancer.com years ago, and it clicked for me. I want to create something with real value, build a loyal audience, and eventually achieve a big exit like that.
The Big Idea
The vision is to create a high-quality email newsletter targeted specifically at affiliates, vendors, and marketers active on industry forums like AffiliateFix, Warrior Forum, and similar spaces. Think of it as a mix of valuable insights, relevant industry updates, and a sarcastic/funny tone — similar to what Morning Brew does so well for business news.
The core pillars of my strategy are:
What I’ve Done So Far
I didn’t want to start from zero, so I’ve already laid down some groundwork:
The referral program is especially important — it’s designed to help the newsletter grow organically without relying purely on paid ads.
Next Steps
The immediate focus is to drive traffic to the opt-in page and start building momentum. My first move will be to run Facebook Ads targeted toward the affiliate and online marketing crowd. Once that’s rolling, I’ll test other channels to see which ones bring in the highest-quality subscribers.
What I Need From the Community
I want to make this Follow Along as transparent and useful as possible, so I’m open to feedback, criticism, and suggestions. If you’ve grown a newsletter before, or know ways to make referral programs more effective, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
This journey will be a mix of wins, struggles, and unexpected lessons — but the destination is clear: a $1M exit.
Let’s see how far we can take this.

The core pillars of my strategy are:
- Outstanding Content – No spam, no fluff. Every email should deliver value that makes readers look forward to the next one.
- Consistency – Regular publishing, at the same time, every time. Reliability builds trust.
- Community Focus – The content will resonate with people who actually operate in the affiliate marketing trenches.
What I’ve Done So Far
I didn’t want to start from zero, so I’ve already laid down some groundwork:
- Chose the brand name and set up a dedicated email domain.
- Built an opt-in page to start collecting subscribers.
- Hired two writers to help ensure the quality and tone of each edition stay consistent.
- Developed a custom referral program built into the email system — subscribers are incentivized to invite others in exchange for rewards.
- Set up two social media accounts (Facebook & Twitter) to start building brand presence.
- Scheduled the first two emails to go out early in the morning based on subscribers’ time zones.
The referral program is especially important — it’s designed to help the newsletter grow organically without relying purely on paid ads.
