How does user-generated content in native ads influence trust?

Whenever I have encountered with affiliate running on native ads, they always tell me how importance is user-generated content in influencing trust. But I don't really understand how this user-generated content enhance trust.

I know user-generated contents to mean those contents that are generated by the audience targeted. I will be glad if someone can enlighten me more about how UGC can influence trust while using native advertising.
