Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a recent case study from my experience running a push traffic campaign in the gambling niche. While I came into the push ads game a bit after the peak hype, there’s still room to carve out profits if you’re strategic and realistic about expectations.

For this run, I teamed up with DatsPush as my traffic source and ExpertMobi as my affiliate network. The offer I chose was [WAP+WEB] Wizard / SE targeting Sweden, with a simple SOI (single opt-in) signup flow and an $8 payout. The campaign ran from June 4 to June 21, and here’s the quick breakdown of results:

  • Costs: $613.87
  • Revenue: $808.00
  • Profit: $194.13
  • ROI: 32%

Not bad for a relatively hands-off test, especially since gambling isn’t a vertical I’ve worked in extensively.

Why Gambling?

Even though I don’t have deep experience in this niche, gambling offers have always intrigued me. In general, there are three main payment models in online casino marketing:

  1. FTD (First Time Deposit) – You get paid when users make their first deposit. The payouts can be big, but you need deep pockets for testing and optimization.
  2. Revshare – You earn a percentage of the player’s deposits over time. Great for long-term earnings but requires consistent traffic.
  3. CPL (Cost Per Lead) – You get paid when a user signs up. Easiest to convert, but payouts are lower.

Since this was more of a quick-turn test, I went with CPL — simple signup flow, faster feedback, and lower risk.

The Offer & Previous Experience

Interestingly, I had tested this exact offer about a year ago, targeting Germany. Back then, I didn’t put much effort into optimization and quickly dropped it when I found other opportunities. This time around, I decided to revisit it with more focus, especially since Sweden seemed promising.

Creative Research & Setup

To find creatives, I used AdPlexity and SpyOver. AdPlexity remains my go-to for push ad spying, but SpyOver has been improving and offers some handy features as well.

I tested a mix of creatives, mostly sticking to clean ad copy without emojis. Surprisingly, one of the creatives I initially thought wouldn’t perform well ended up delivering strong results early on. A couple of others also performed decently at first but began to fade over time.

Example copy included:

  • Header: VINN UPP TILL 100 SPINS! – WIN UP TO 100 SPINS!
Description: Fun never ends at Wizard Casino.
  • Header: Spela Casino Slots online – Play Casino Slots Online
Description: Get 25 free spins instantly when you sign up.

Traffic Management & Blacklisting Rules

For optimization, I followed two simple rules:

  • If a traffic source cost 2x the offer payout without a conversion, it got cut.
  • If it cost 4x the payout and had a negative ROI, it got cut.

I didn’t rush to blacklist every day because traffic sources can vary in performance depending on the day. By avoiding over-optimization, I managed to keep some sources that eventually brought in conversions.

Final Thoughts

This wasn’t a campaign that made me rich overnight, but it proved that there’s still room to profit in push traffic if you’re selective with targeting, disciplined with rules, and realistic about expectations.

For around two weeks of fairly passive management, walking away with nearly $200 profit and a 32% ROI feels like a solid win. With more aggressive optimization and creative refresh cycles, I think this could be scaled further — but that’s a test for another day.

Good luck to everyone testing push traffic!
